From a Watchman’s Son to being a Top class Cricketer

Today in this article we are sharing a inspirational story of Mr. Ravindra Jadeja.

Ravindra Jadeja was born in Navamgheda, Gujarat in 1988. His father Anirudh Singh was an watchman and his mother lata was a nurse. The financial situation of Jadeja’s home was not enough to fulfill their dreams and wishes. They could only feed their stomaches but with his unconditional love for cricket, he proved it that cricket is above everything.

His father always wanted him to be an Army officer while his mother wanted him to pursue cricket. His mother always knew that cricket was the only thing he dearly loved and worked hard for. But unfortunately his mother died before seeing her son the zeniths of the cricketing world. This was a turning point in Jadeja’s life. He decided to give up cricket. At the same time his elder sister helped him find his way back.

Jadeja was one of the favorite student of his couch Mahendra Singh Chouhan. His love and passion for cricket made him favorite. Jadeja was a mischievous kid, but slap from his coach made him sincere and help him focus better. His coach remembers his first club match played against his seniors. His first ball went for a four and second for six. Chouhan called him near the boundary and slapped him in front of everyone again to focus. This was the first time when he took five wickets in a match.

Jadeja’s coach knew his potential and wanted him to be best in game. Now in 2005, at the age of 16 Jadeja made his debut in Under-19 cricket for India. He was also the vice-captain of the Indian team that won the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In 2006–07 Duleep Trophy he made his first-class debut. The high time had started for Jadeja as he became the eighth player in history of cricket, and the first Indian, to make three triple hundreds in domestic cricket, joining the likes of Don Bradman, Brian Lara, Bill Ponsford, Walter Hammond, W.G. Grace, Graeme Hick, and Mike Hussey.

On 17 April, 2016, he got married to Rivaba Solanki. Today Jadeja is also an IPL star. He is a great example that hard work and determination go on a long way and bring success. His hard work made him the best all-rounder for India in cricket. We hope to see more of his heroics in the years to come.
